Review of
"Learn & Master Piano"

Out of all the courses I’m reviewing here, I feel that Learn & Master Piano is THE best.  If you really want to learn to play – and want an excellent system – this is the one for you.

What you get.  Wow! That’s all I can say.  You get an incredible amount of material in this wonderful course.  However, if you’re only wanting to step up from chopsticks, this might be too much.

To start off, you get a huge amount of material.  The course includes 14 DVD’s, 5 CD’s (designed so that you can play them while you play along), a book with all the lessons plus a lot of additional material support online.  While a course doesn’t give you the feedback that a “live” teacher does, it WILL get you from beginner to fairly advanced levels.  I would recommend that at some point you do take real lessons for the feedback that only a musician can give.

The quality of the course is great.  Production values are extremely high and the music on the DVD’s and CD’s sound great.  No tinny sounding voices or pianos.  It may not seem that important, but when you’re listening to something over and over – good quality makes all the difference!  The lessons are logical, fairly easy to understand and are backed up by a 104 page lesson book. The 14 Learn and Master Piano DVDs contain 28 detailed sessions taught by Grammy-Award Winning Composer/Arranger Will Barrow. There are over 120+ audio tracks to play along with too, on the 5 audio CDs.

For HOMESCHOOLERS there is a Piano Student Edition which contains the complete Piano Course plus a 68-Page Teacher’s Guide (With Full 2-Year Scope-and-Sequence) and 1 DVD Teacher’s Resource.

The course fee also includes online support through a members only section of their Website.  There is a discussion board and a moderator who seems to answer questions fairly regularly.  The company also has a telephone number (a rarity in online companies nowadays!) for service during regular business hours.

The negative to this course is that it is expensive.  However, you definitely get your money’s worth.  I would recommend it to anyone who is committed to learning to play the piano.  However, if you are not sure if piano playing is for you, I would recommend one of our other courses on this review.
